Sailing it is. What kind of navigation computer will you use in your yacht? I presume it will have solar and/or wind charging. I have a yacht of sorts that I can use but it needs fixin. Perhaps if you bring your sea scouts to TBAY they can volunteer to patch the hull and we can take them sailing on Superior as their reward. I guess the boat will hold 15 or so with no trouble. Gaff rigged ketch.

As I type this I am listening to Gould play Bach, specifically Variation 13 of Goldberg Variations, recorded in 1955. Gould was arguably one of the greatest piano players who has lived. It is playing on workman under fvwm95 in Linux Slackware 3.6. I had tried as a normal non root user to get the CD player to work and it would only go root. It seems that they had set the permissions on cdrom r-w for all three UGO (user, group others) but had not tried this for /dev/hdc which cdrom was. So workman would not run under a user. Workman would start but would not find the CD. They should have some kind of diagnostic/administrative tool that would look at the permissions and set them for programata. Of course that would have to run in root. Twould be a boon.

Oh yah, I also had OLWM freeze my mouse and freeze the screen saver. It would exit from the screen saver if I punched cntrl alt del but it froze there and no amount of alt f2 or other invocation would help. I had to hot reboot. sheesh! memory leak somewhere. I am beginning to think it is the board. I hesitate to go to the new boards as they have even fewer slots than the old ones and I would be hamstrung attaching all the stuff I got. I don't even have room for a sound card.

Can you get a scanner to work? I guess one has to go SCSI there.
