By the way, Daniel, I have attacked Irving Kristol and Norman Podhoretz in print. Let us see if I can think of any other people you would recognize as possible "patrons" whom I have criticized in Commentary or some other venue: Allan Bloom (RIP), George Weigle (formerly of the Ethics and Public Policy Center), Gertrude Himmelfarb (aka Bea Kristol, Irving's wife), Daniel Patrick Moynihan, Nathan Glazer, Angelo Codevilla (of the Hoover Institution), Michael Ledeen (of the Center for Strategic and International Studies). Since I have probably already gotten too obscure, I will stop on that line. People I have tangled with at public meetings, over one or another issue: Robert Bork, Charles Krauthammer, Jeane Kirkpatrick, Alan Keyes, Ben Wattenburg, Doug Bandow (of the Cato Institute)...again, I am beginning to lapse into obscurity, so I will stop that line. I have on this thread expressed disagreement with certain stances that Bill Kristol has taken, and looked askance at rhetorical excess from Alan Keyes. The notion that I have "theological patrons" is laughable. I have argued with, and sometimes offended, many of the major figures in my world...

I'm sorry, your theological masters would have been more correct. The Weekly Standard, Neocon.
