1. Why pick on DCI for something that (apparently) other companies
do also (pooling accounting )?

VH,

I am guessing that DCI booked something wrong. Pooling accounting is very confusing(which is why it is going away)and has lots of rules. My company will not ever use pooling to account for an acquisiton.

Based on the press release, this inquiry looks like it has nothing to do with the long-distance business, or even the rest of the business going forward on the sales line. What may happen is if the poolings have to be booked as purchases, there would be a goodwill amount hitting expenses.
