Wallingford, CT eUniverse Inc.a network of entertainment-based Web sites, plans to acquire Gamer's Alliance, a company that provides news about computer-based games, officials announced Tuesday(5/4).
eUniverse officials said they have signed a letter of intent to buy Gamer's Alliance, adding that both firms expect to have all details finalized within 30 days.
eUniverse spokesman, Brett Brewer, said the Wallingford based company presently is not disclosing terms of the deal.
Gamer's Alliance is a popular network among computer game aficionados, eUniverse officials said, and had more than 50 related web sites, including GA-Source, which provides game previews and product reviews.
Gamer's Alliance attracts more than 750K monthly visitors to its network of Web sites, according to eUniverse.
The company last month acquired Cases Ladder, which provides more than 1.1 million customers with Internet access to game tournaments and chat rooms involving both classic and state-of-the-art computer based games. That deal was worth $7M in stock, Brewer said.
eUniverse network members CD Universe and Video Universe offer music and movie selections over the Internet.
eUniverse shares closed unchanged at $12.50 on the OTC:BB (EUNI).

The Cases Ladder operation sounds really attractive to expanding THQ's presence on the WWW. Are there other businesses out there that have a similar operations? For eUniverse, the publishing parts would have to be divided up so that reviews could be non-biased. FWIW.
