>>The Cases Ladder operation sounds really attractive to expanding THQ's presence on the WWW. Are there other businesses out there that have a similar operations?<< There are lots of potentials in the internet arena, I agree. I'm not sure how fast ti's really taking off, and I think it's hard to measure also. I've read stories about how internet on-line gaming, usually multi-player, is not ready for prime time yet. There are still issues to resolve, and the installed user base just is not there is what is provided as rationale. Yet, in the course of doing my work, I get to meet "regular" people all the time in their homes, and at work. I see Start Craft Terran Marine and Hydralisk figurines, I see hundreds of boxes of Doom, Quake II, Commandos, and I hear a lot of people talk about how they are playing games on the internet. There are online gaming presences, including MPlayer.com, battle.net, Kali.net, and quite a few others. They are all fighting for the position of being favorite host location for game players. Tough to call who will win, but there will probably be more than one anyways. My opinion is that THQI needs to CREATE good game, and concentrate on selling them worldwide. That is the core portion of their business, so I'd rather see them concentrate on that aspect of operations. THQI DOES need to create or BUY a FIRST-RATE online multi-player game as soon as possible. I'm telling you that as more people compete in games live, head to head or as a team, over the internet this is going to become HUGE. I mean HUGE HUGE ... I remember when Todd mentioned that Cendant might liquidate some of their game operations a while back. I wanted THQI to grab Blizzard, I think that would have been a great grab with their core technologies of graphics and real-time game play, and name recognition of War Craft and Star Craft. Some French company bought them ... oh well :( Games, great games, distribution ... and if that ever becomes too confusing, to simplify it should just be GREAT GAMES! Regards, JB
