Yeah, PPOD has to diversify imho. Many supermarkets make their own deliveries anyway.

hmmm, maybe if they delivered babies.... doctors on the go....

PPOD - I agree ... I only see it working in a niche market at this point.

P.S. - Don't get the wrong idea ... I don't own PPOD, I just said I would have considered using it when I lived in Manhattan.

I've heard that streamline.com is the ONLY online grocer that has a workable business model. Haven't checked it out yet. Read about it while on an airplane. Don't think it is public yet.

<PPOD>

Right now it's a lottery ticket. The sector might get hot soon. Net stocks are all momentum.

Regardless, I definitely would not short it right now. It is even conceivable that a national grocery/superstore/drug store (KR, WMT, K, RAD, etc.) would buy them out if they get some minimal infrastructure or effective business plan working. Like the article someone pointed to stated, all PPOD needs to do is be effective in one metropolitan area before the street gives it some credibility.

On a fundamental level, PPOD has spent its life thus far learning about its industry. BTW, is any pure internet retailer making money? None I can think of.
