I thought WCOM was in talks to acquire NEXTEL communications? I feel sorry for WCOM shareholders tomorrow...can you say share price dilution?

WCOM may make a bid and if it gets MediaOne then look for America Online shares to roar tomorrow...

Why?

America Online is very tight with WCOM. America Online inked an exclusive deal with WCOM as its DSL or ADSL pipe. If WCOM acquires MediaOne with Comcast ...then AOL will have access to MediaOne and Comcast pipes....

AOL will be in no need to strike a deal with T and AOL's broadband strategy will be before us.

That would slate ATHM for TCI and T subscribers while MediaOne and Comcast subscribers will have AOL via its relationship with WCOM.

This would definitely divide the pie for T and AOL.

Can't wait for tomorrow to see what others in CNBC say about this...

Disclosure: I have positions in both AOL and XCIT... 2,000 on AOL 1,000 on XCIT..

The news should be great for both stocks...

Best to you,

Hector

RE: <<MCI WorldCom May Join Comcast in Bid for MediaOne, NYT Says >>

Okay, next I suspect we'll be seeing Comcast courting The Wayne's World Cable Channel to structure a bid<g>. Can you say "grasping at straws"?.
