>>if the market crashes,<<

Now it's if? Another one throwing in the towel. -g-

I've been a little disappointed with Chaste so far, given the back up in rates. You add poots on this pos or still holding June 65's (I think) ?

Mike,

How does one play the drop in palladium? Impay has not moved down significantly. You mentioned buying futures in the metal. How can I learn more about this (futures)?

In buying puts/calls, I stick with stuff in the $1-2 range. How much would the smallest possible future contract in palladium cost? Just looking for a ballpark figure, so I know whether its in my range

Mike,

Another subject I think about often that I have not really resolved is the U.S. trade/current acount deficits.

I am not certain what the cause is.

1. U.S. demand for goods as a result of excessive credit expansion and consumption that is being satisfied by foreign imports. With the dollars flowing overseas then recycled back by purchases of U.S. stocks & bonds by foreign private concerns and central bankers etc...

2. Foreign demand for U.S. dollars (because everyone else is sucking wind economically) which is causing a rising dollar and pricing out our exports and making imports more attractive.

3. Both. With some countries 1. and with others 2.

4. Other

It's a chicken and egg situation. You can make an excellent case for both.

Wayne
