One thing to add....the one thing that is nice about Metastock is that all the trend lines, support lines, moving averages, channels, symbols, etc., that you draw on a chart, stay on the chart if you want. If you are following a big group of stocks I think Metastock would be a very benifical to a beginner. It would allow them to follow trends and watch how they develop. You draw on a trend line and the next day you see it broken...what happens next?. If you are using a web based free program you will never get to do this and I don't think you will ever learn TA to its full extent. It is easy to look back at a chart and say "I would have bought there". However if you draw on the charts it can be a great learning tool. In addition the system tester is great for beginners who want to test there ideas.

Of course I am an Engineer so I love numbers. In fact I can't understand why everyone doesn't enjoy plowing through the charts and doing calculations. I guess I am just a geek at heart.

Best Regards
KEITH
