Gustave, your rejoinder is not on point, since we were arguing about whether or not the ostensible reasons were credible. Arresting him to poison him makes little sense. Arresting him just to wait out his death by natural causes makes little sense, unless you want to get the credit for bringing him to justice without the necessity of going through a trial. Therefore, it at least makes more sense than the scenario you developed...If they just wanted him dead, he would be dead...
