gran: I know you want to buy more dell, but lowering the entire market so you can do it is a little ridiculous!!!

G:

Yes, in a bit of shock, but look at AOL and MSFT (never thought it would break under 80). This tech wreck is intense. As I said in my post yesterday, we were at a fork in the road on DELL, either going back to 48 or down to 36. All this and CPQ still trading up. What happened to that earnings run?

granola.....can't be shocked by absurdity....

if it is any consolation....and if you have a penchant for historical price patterns, look at an eighteen month chart of dell....in 98 traded for four months in a primary range of 25-35(july-november) with bulk of trading in the 27.5 range) dell has traded past four months in a 35-40 primary range with most activity in the 40 area..either case it was moving +/- 10% from mid point...any upside breakout during these periods was on lower volume, whereas down side in oct and feb had blowout +100m volume...volume recently below average..good sign, longer it bases, more upside potential...unless fundamentals change drastically!....boring market, "drifting" down from lack of buying....
