<The street does not understand how critical HLIT and ANTC are in T's plans.>

I hope you're right. I still think HLIT must constantly worry about big competitors. Looking at Media One, they've never been a big customer. They get their equipment somewhere.

T is obviously going to come in and wonder if CATV suppliers really can do something better than Telco suppliers. Maybe they will have a bend toward suppliers they know better?

I asked a guy from TCI once who would win the DWDM bids and he said there were at least 3 suppliers with good equipment. It wouldn't be hard to find equipment. So, on the one hand, I want to believe HLIT has something special to offer, and yet I fear that there are more players involved than I'm aware of.

I just don't know enough to really make an informed decision. I do know that I've been to 2 HLIT shareholder meetings and they are confident, but not interested in boosting the stock. That's not helping.

I agree with you though. A flood of purchases must be coming down the pipe and HLIT is going to get a big positive hit to revenues. It will be good to see it happening here in the US now and not hoping for something out of China to bring us through.

I've been thinking of buying back into Antec. I was thinking they had a bigger position in the cable telephoney, but it really looks like Nortel holds the bigger end of the deal. In fact, Nortel may be the big competitor in general.
Regards,

Mark

Kenneth, Mr. Softy OS will help one company, that is SPYG, I believe.
They seem to be positioned well with Windows CE and the mini-browser arena. I think SPYG is on the mend, but so does the market.
