Sounds like a solid indicator to graph with a view to buying as the stock reaches its traditional relative low.

Where do you get estimates for the Year ahead growth rate for the S&P 500? ... and what's your definition of Year Ahead? Is it for the Next 12 months? the current calendar year end? or summation of the Fiscal Year End earnings for each of the 500 companies? or does it even matter?
