I can't believe anyone would have signed up to something that would make their options null and void if the division was sold.

This precise point was covered at length in a San Diego Union story last week. They have lost their options.

1: Legally, they are SOL

2. But: They have a lot of leverage, because Q has to get this division sold To Ericson, and they ain't going to take it if it is a "blowup" situation.
