If IBM were to buy the NSM fab they would make x86 compatible CPUs on it.. guarantee it..

If AMD buys the fab they are going to make chipsets and the like on it.. again you don't need a fancy fab for chipsets, you just need fab space.

I'm not saying AMD would run the K6 on such a beast.. they may chose to run the .25 masks in the fab, if all the equipment is capable of the .18 stuff, because there shouldn't be any problems, but I would see AMD running chipsets and the like there.

As for Intel, I never said Intel would buy the fab, so I won't comment.
