The waterhouse service sucks.
What's the problem? Works fine for me.

I can't believe you are getting any service at all. you must be one of those guys who trade ones a month or so.

More than that, but I trade using limit orders, and usually hold stocks for 2 months to 2 years. Are you one of these guys that thinks you can trade faster than the professionals? If so, good luck...

A lot of my friends left them because everyday in the morning their systems are so slow to get from one screen to the other takes 30 secs. So by the time you confirm it and it trades its a good 1 1/2 mins. So for any trader their WEBBroker sucks. Plus their service is so bad that they never get back to you ever. SO after their IPO comes short them because they are losing clients all over the place.
Funny, that's not what the SEC filings say. According to the SEC filings they are gaining accounts quite rapidly.

Maybe Waterhouse isn't an ideal place for daytraders, but I don't think you guys are their target market. If you are, then they will likely use the $ proceeds from the IPO to get the system up to snuff to satisfy whatever services you think are lacking. Their current system works fine for me, and $12 a trade is pretty inexpensive.

I trade nearly everyday and have no problem with the service. Yes the phone lines can be busy, but I do my trades through WebBroker. I don't buy stocks I'm not willing to hold for a while so maybe daytraders who hold only for the day should look else where. No system is perfect.

The IPO should do very well.
