You've been posting on this board and on the ATHM board and you don't know who cares about T's entry in the internet/broadband. Sorry to ask, but, Are you stupid? I guess you haven't been reading the news lately. Anyway, here's one.... "Led by America Online, ISPs have protested, arguing that they should be able to reach cable customers directly--similar to the system which allows dial-up users to sign up for AOL without also having to use their telephone company's ISP service. Under the banner of a lobbying group dubbed the OpenNet Coalition, the ISPs have pressed Congress and the Federal Communications Commission to require cable companies to open their high-speed networks. To date, however, their efforts have met with little success." news.com Hellooooooooooo.....anyone home? A huge entity has been sh@tting bricks since the merger of ATHM/XCIT in January, then the merger of ATT/TCI....and now ATT/Mediaone....GO FIGURE! With T's entry in the Internet, and cable industry, it means "DOMINANCE" just like the telecomm...and they have learned not to cross too many lines this time. Now, AOL has been protesting and arguing...OPEN THE CABLE LINES.....but they don't want to pay for the UPGRADES it will cost ATT/TCI/Comcast and others to upgrade the cables lines.....Aol's argument is weak, in my opinion. They want a free ride....ATT/TCI and others would like them to pay part of the upgrades it is costing them..... If you still don't understand this WHOLE issue....I will not waste my time on you... As I have said....GO FIGURE! LOL
