Must run--- but again--- you went beyond where I was focusing-
I was speaking of the specific SITCOM audience- which does attract a large segment of Americans. I think the nudie stuff targets an even more specific- and NOT as large a segment- of people- but TV merely targets demands in the same way books, magazines and everything else does. Sitcoms are "family" in nature-albeit in many odd ways.

I think you are far more unique than you think you are!!! And I don't see why you want to argue that. (You should be proud!) Jerry Springer? Case in point! Very popular- but hardly what you or I would watch- We aren't the majority, Joan. Not sure what being American has to do with anything?

I am not sure what your point is. Sitcoms do reflect the audience- they deal with topics of the week, frequently. Things pop up that are in discussion in the mainstream media. You may not be part of the mainstream, this does not make Rambis's point any less apt.

I am not sure who you think you should count to? TV people would not and should not be interested in you as you are not part of their market. When considering how TV affects Americans you are also irrelevant since you are not interacting with your television. You are relevant in so far as you belong to the minority who do not watch entertainment on television, and as such you are an interesting subset of the population but what do you acre whether you are considered or not? I keep up with sitcoms (I do not watch them often but I like to keep up with reviews, plots, etc) because a great many new cultural ideas come from sitcoms (can we forget "spongeworthiness"? Or "Master of my Domain"? I know I won't). Shutting yourself off from sitcoms is like shutting yourself off from slang, or rap or any other shorthand for dispersion of new ideas.
