Windows CE should make people comfortable in trying this product.

I'm not convinced. We're talking about people who haven't yet figured out how to program the clock on their VCRs. I'm not sure a Windows-like task bar on their TVs is going to seem friendly.

It will be a challenge for Microsoft to figure out how they can fit into this very different environment and what works in that new world. This deal gives them a chance that they might not have had otherwise to make those adjustments.

And don't count on the Microsoft brand automatically getting good play here. When you turn on that TV, I suspect AT&T will want you to hear their bong and not Microsoft's "didily-ding" thing.
