Even a monkey in management position, would realize that product doesn't make a successful company. But it is the base upon which one can build a successful company. And that base exists for Novadigm. Its a tough job trying to market and sell that product against big muscles. But if we look at the customer list of Novadigm - we can see that they have done it !! And once u have a initial customer base as strong as NVDM has, it is easier to convince others to buy the product. I am not downplaying the fact that they have to deal with handful of big guys like IBM, MSFT etc. But note that these guys are going to be selling in a subset of the market (focusing on only their platforms) - whereas NVDM has a product that works across multi-platfoms - ie. multiple machines - which are common in a big company (which is the target client base).

As far as "selling out the company" ....that is usually considered when the company's future is difficult (like in case of NSCP) or when an offer comes along that is too good to refuse. I doubt if NVDM is in talks with anyone to sell itself. I wouldn't do it if I were NVDM management. They have had successful 3 quarters and it shows they have a good team in place. Now, they have to grow and manage that growth properly. I could have made some money short term trading it - but I am going to hold on to this for the long term.
