no, not a cable modem, just a regular one... had a second modem line installed when i got on abw, it is on it's own machine with it's own modem and different isp... tried to get dsl, but was just a bit too far from the 17,500 feet limit from the central connection, (whatever that means...) ult trader has worked great with regular modem for me, seemingly instant executions, etc... but i have nothing to compare to... hope it gets straightened out for you soon... kathy :)
