Bobby - I have no problems with Alex, Lorne, Richard and nearly everyone on this thread so I don't think I would for a moment associate myself with any inference on your part to the contrary. I'm sure I appreciate their contributions too. I've lived with the goings on in gold since about 1972/3 - since the time after Nixon closed the gold window. I'm not a gold bug in some ways at all - but I do think gold represents a sort of truth - and I understand the passion it evokes. I don't argue with some of those in the passionate camp - because they are on the side of the angels as far as I'm concerned. Where I disagree in part is that I believe many in the investment and banking community act in their own self interest - and I fail to see how CBs want the price of gold to fall, and I wonder why some major speculators like Soros don't take on and try to break the shorts, and maybe they will As for Hutch I think, along with Hutch, that he is a bright fellow but I don't share your overall view of his omnipotence! d
