Dr. Seuss, Good luck. Let me know how DLJ is, I could use a different source for shorts. I've never heard of a broker fronting money on a new account. Interesting.

I've had it with E*Trade too. The absolute worst customer service I've ever encountered. I'm giving Brown a try.

DLJ must be cutting back. It used to be $25,000 to start. If you want customer service you will not find it at DLJ. I recently closed my account there due to the pure lack of customer service. Be ready to find yourself in arbitration on your first complaint because they do absolutely nothing to resolve problems other than tell you "sorry" and come up with a bunch of excuses why they will not do anything. CYA type of talk. In my opinion they have the worst customer service of any company I have ever done business with, bar none

They do have a good inventory for shorting though.
