"The penetration for computers in the residential marketplace will increase nearing that of the television set. But this computer will not be a pc." Why not? PCs have already gained 50+% penetration. What set-top boxes are available (WebTV) have been a horrible flop. The public has already voted on this. "Q. Do you honestly think that anybody is going to give up a PC for a set-top box?" A. Yes I do and I will be the first in line." I don't think it will be a very long line... "As to where you might store your personal information I am not yet clear on. My guess is that, over time, the ASP/ISP will offer enough security so that you will trust them to your information." No Way In Hell! Plus, even at cable modem speeds, this is impractical. Local storage is here to stay.
