i got some platinum in GLDFY, but i think gold is just beginning its bull whereas silver, platinum, and palladium have been in a bull for a while... they may make bigger moves here in the short term.... but the gold run will last long after they peak out, IMO.

To All, Alex Brown's raised opinion on Dell was the silliest thing I've ever seen. They quote two factors: 1. Strength in PC sales. 2. A chance to take more market share while Compaq is out to lunch. Both ideas speak of analysts who don't have any idea what they are talking about.

The first concept is ludicrous. PC sales are extremely weak and even Dell admitted that the industry was in decline. Where these maroons see strength is in what they must be smoking.

The second concept isn't quite as lucicrous, but I see just the opposite taking place. How does Compaq right itself? By cutting prices and making things very tough for competitors. They are not going to tread water until they dot the last i of their new strategic plan. Also, with the stock dead meat and nobody expecting anything of them, they have free reign to dump inventory until the new CEO is hired. BTW, the rumors that I have been offered the position are not true. Who wants options on a stock that is falling to zero? <g?
