Wizzer, Q1 are as expected and the Q4 results did a reasonable job of preparing us & explaining what to expect. No one should be terribly upset or surprised with,

>>MOND ANNOUNCES 1999 FIRST QUARTER RESULTS
MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO--
Mond Industries Inc. ("Mond") today announced its 1999 first quarter results for the three months ended March 31, 1999. Mond's 1999 first quarter financial performance was affected by the planned redesign of its Mississauga manufacturing facility, which resulted in a scheduled decline in throughput and lower unit sales for the quarter. Revenue for the first quarter was $25.6 million, compared with $29.2 million for the first quarter of 1998. The Company's net loss for the quarter was $1.4 million or ($0.04) per share, compared with net income of $485,648 or $0.01 per share in the first quarter of 1998.
"We anticipated that output would be restricted during the first quarter as a result of the major redesign to our Mississauga plant," said Pat DiLillo, President of Mond. "Once these changes have been completed later this month, we will begin producing Trailmobile designed trailers and we plan to gradually increase output throughout the year. By the end of the year we expect output to have increased substantially over current levels."
The redesign of Mond's manufacturing facilities was initiated following the Company's strategic alliance with Chicago-based Trailmobile Corporation, now Mond's majority owner. The new plant design is based on the production model used by Trailmobile in the United States. Once the redesign is completed, Mond's plant will have increased production capacity and improved production efficiency.
Mond's unit sales in the first quarter totalled 769, compared with 1,069 for the first quarter 1998. Demand for Mond's trailers is increasing as a result of its business arrangement with Trailmobile, and the Company booked orders with new customers in the United States during the quarter.
"New U.S. customer orders in the quarter are a positive sign," said Ed Wanandi, Mond's new Chairman and CEO. "As we continue to build new customer relationships and increase our sales efforts, we will be well positioned to utilize the increased production capacity that is being phased-in at our Mississauga facility."
About Mond Industries Inc. ("Mond") manufactures dry freight trailers for commercial trucking customers in Canada and the United States. In December 1998, Chicago-based Trailmobile Corporation acquired a majority equity interest in Mond. Together they form North America's third largest trailer manufacturer, with an extensive sales and distribution network throughout North America. Mond is listed on The Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol "MII". The Company's head office is located in Mississauga, Ontario. <<

Why would Trailmobile want the rest of the shares when they already got 51% of the shares O/S and they have their boys on the board of directors?

Wizzer, I'm not sure I understand this,
>>Under the terms of the offering, shareholders will be entitled to one right for each common share held. Four rights will entitle the rights holder to subscribe for one common share at the subscription price, which Mond expects to be $0.31 per share. <<

Does this mean that for every four shares I own I can buy one more for .31, or is it more complicated???

Wizzer, any interest in TMX anymore?? Would really like to know if we are just being absorbed by Trailmobile now that they have control or if there will ever be an effort to increase share value.
