<In the UK rights offerings are common, and maybe they might spread to the US.> Yes rights offerings are a common way to raise capital all over Europe, HOWEVER thats because it's considered acceptable for these corporate giants (Volkswagen, Siemans,etc) to call on shareholders for more capital, almost as a courtesy so as not to dilute those holders with a secondary. While I agree that this is "better", I still find it humorous (funny ha-ha, or funny peculiar?). DAK
