Ramsey, *Cinecomm*

The Qualcomm/Hughes-JVC system will be beta tested in a handful of theatres for the upcoming Star Wars release. I believe the TI digital projector, which uses a different technology than Hughes-JVC, will also be tested, but I do not know if Q is also involved in the encrytion/transmission/decryption end of the TI test. I think the release is this weekend (5/15) but not sure.

Best regards,
Jim

Ramsey, re: instant messaging or interactive chat or whatever the hell is the right term--number one son is generation x,y, or z (what are you when you're 23 and think you're smarter than everybody on the planet, particularly your father?), well anyway, he says that the ONLY thing, the WAY COOL thing, and the thing you do if you don't want to suffer terminal tech embarrassment is: ICQ. Developed by some Israeli outfit and recently purchased by AOL but works with all ISP's. They have their own web site: http:///www.icq.com
and the really neat thing is that it's freeware although the download is pretty long for all the Luddites out there who still have dial up connections which does NOT include Surfer Mike, a.k.a. the DSL Kid. That's all I have to say except that I'm a little glum today having lost 50% of my QCOM investment; why are we down 100? Critics must have been right: CDMA violates laws of physics. :-( SM
