KL, Those are Chicago Board of Trade Indices for value and growth stocks. Symbols are ^ivx and ^igx. Go look at their charts with a 200 -day moving average imposed upon the chart and you'll see a technical confirmation that the value sector is coming to life (including cyclicals like oil/gas/OS stocks)...

KL, Did I respond? I cannot remember BARRA is an index ^IVX value stock index, and ^IGX is the growth stock index.... Look also at the "backwardation" in the prices for crude and natural gas contracts for each month in 1999- suggests tightness in market supplies....
