These 1st Amendment "rights" can be dangerously disrespectful.

Somehow I knew you'd say that. Get a clue: being "disrespectful"--as in "parody" or "satire"--ain't a crime, or even a civil offense. Why does the idea of confronting "Authority" upset you so?

Wired didn't sign a contract with you.

We didn't in any sense violate the terms of that contract, as we've previously explained.

I do understand, though, why they feel they must protect their name from being collectively and unfairly besmirched.

What do you mean by "collectively"? That public opinion is against them? Not as a result of anything we've done. They chose to take the stance they've taken.
