CLINTON, steve lower case and others DO NOTHING but have meeting for photo op.

Well the President had his "look good - Stop the Violence" meeting today and it is VERY important that all Americans look at what went on. Clinton said he would invite the people who could make a difference, he did not. The NRA was not invited.
Guess who WAS invited but DID NOT show up. Yup, your Hollywood types. Again proving it is alright to make money off of a gun, they just don't want you to have one. Guns are evil you know. Bull$hit. It's money that matters, that is what Hollywood told the world today. Screw your kids, just show me the money.
I didn't hear any news about steve lower case standing up and saying "I'm not just talk, I really do care about our children, I won't ink a deal that Howard Stern will make money off of." No steve lower case didn't do that but then again, I never thought he would. Screw your kids, it's money that matters.
"The meeting is a starting point" my a$$, this was a photo op.
I think I'm going to hurl, BLUE

CLEAR THINKING or HELP FOR steve lower case and mr. president
by yer pal BLUE

Clinton doesn't want to do anything but look good. That is what he has in common with some of the people at the meeting today. Clinton won't tell you the truth that I am about to. If you don't know why he won't tell you the truth then watch what he does next week.
Next week he will meet in California with all the people who wouldn't come to Washington to talk about stopping the violence. Clinton will meet with them because he is a man without class or honor, he will be there for money, to take two million dollars that were made off of (in part) the violence the Hollywood types would not come to Washington to help stop. Now do you know why this is all a look good they are running?
First, let's start with FACTS not Hollywood or White House lies and spin. Violent movies effect kids. If you don't believe this then let's look at facts and then I will tell you what any Veteran can tell you, another FACT.
FACT Joe Camel is not on a cigarette pack because why? The image as it was presented did what? Oh Hollywood and Clinton would have you believe that Joe Camel can make a kid smoke but the repeated images of violence and guns being shown as a solution has no effect on kids? Glad we got that Hollywood BULL$HIT out of the way.
Uncle Sam knows how just repeated singing of violent songs can make you want to kill but yet, the record companies will tell you, violent lyrics have no effect on kids. More BULL$HIT.
When I served my country I was an Airborne medic and signed up to be one, so my motives by nature were clear. After many weeks of singing songs (cadence) with my peers about killing Charlie, I really started to think about killing. This was strange to me as I signed up to save lives and by the time I was in jump school, I was thinking about taking some. Do you think Uncle Sam knew what he was doing? If it works for Uncle Sam, do you think it works with songs kids play and sing over and over?
Now that I have the understanding I do of what happened to me back then, it is clear what happen. Military songs or cadence are a slow brain washing. That is why they have you sing them. If you don't believe me then ask another Veteran. If Clinton had ever served, he would know this to be true.
I went from singing "come on people smile on your brother" to "I want go to Vietnam, I wanna kill some Charlie Cong" in a few weeks.
Think about the this the next time a song jumps into your head. Is music tied to events and your reaction to events? Do images make you think one way or another, cause a reaction? Anyone who is honest knows the answers to these questions. Remember those image flashes that make you want to have pop-corn at the movies?
Life in the country...................................and guns
I live in the country, it takes twenty minutes for a Jefferson County Sheriff to get to my house, or more. If I screamed as loud as I could only the elk would hear me. Do you think I NEED a gun or do I just say to a crook or wild animal "please don't kill me, I called the cops and they will be here in twenty minutes."
I have a loaded 9MM and other loaded weapons in my house and I find as much comfort in knowing I have heat waiting as I did when I served my country. To be honest, I know what man can do to his fellow man, I've seen it. That's why I own a gun, because I know.
My 9MM has never killed anyone and if a crook busted in right now it still wouldn't kill him, I would. And that is the point, a person pulls the trigger. So if violence is a plant then if we pull the gun, we didn't get the root and the gun will come back in another form.
Now us guys who served while others ran are some sick bastards. Just look at how Hollywood has you think of us. Like we are all out of the "Deer Hunter". Most of that movie was bull$hit and as one who earned my wings, it was sick to see a proud unit, taken out and shot by Hollywood fiction.
American troops don't get orders to kill Americans. Not even your most top secret beret unit, I would know. Dick Nixon may have sent a secret unit to bring out POWs in other countries but our military NEVER had orders to kill its own. Only a SICK HOLLYWOOD mind would come up with that and have you believe it were real.
So a gun is something you should really worry about right? No I don't think so. I think you should worry about the Hollywood type who makes money off of violence and guns and then pays off the president with the profits.
The one to worry about is the child or fool that believes Hollywood bull$hit and then acts out the make believe violence of Hollywood. You should worry about how Washington is being run. Because it is all a show as we are seeing. A show about our children and the bad guys have the power.
Watch for yourself. You just saw the look good meeting today, next comes the Hollywood pay off. TWO MILLION.
A President with a capital P would not attend the Hollywood Money meeting and state in public why. Because it is BLOOD MONEY, OUR CHILDREN'S BLOOD MONEY.
That is not going to happen as to state the truth in public takes guts. Bill will take the BLOOD MONEY, it's money that matters in Hollywood and the White House.
The truth shall set you free.......................................
WHAT COULD they do? How about any movie that has a gun in the movie that is used to hurt, threaten, harass, etc. another person, gets an X rating. Hollywood will tell you guns should be outlawed or controlled, well we have gun laws but no movie gun control laws. No we don't have movie gun laws to keep guns out of the minds of our children.
Simple solution: When a gun is used to hurt a person, the movie gets an X rating. Surely Bill Clinton of all people can see SEX is not as bad as VIOLENCE. Put up or shut up Billy Boy and your dream world, Hollywood Hate Producers.
yer pal, 9MM BLUE

Howdy Carolyn, I took a long time to answer your post asking for my thoughts on NT (Northern Telecom to Nortel) and TLAB...they're just FINE!!! NT split Dec. '98, TLAB splits 5/17, so of the two of 'em TLAB has that growth-room edge because of the split coming. Their year chart both looks the same Movin' Up, since September they look the same as all the other good Net/Com stocks, both into wireless got good alliances, nowhere to go from here but up and down then up again with the rest of 'em, They're In Good Company.
So what's the future of cable/vs. high speed over phone lines? Well, let's not forget satellite, actual TV via antenna, radio, and receiver gizmos either - for wireless internet "by air". First, I think your broker probably isn't so heavy into research in this sector like we are; neither is mine...the broker just looks at numbers and risks so the opinion there has much value from that another standpoint. Now me, I think there's room for both and all; in the near future the cable access will rule with folks who just plain don't want a computer but want the internet and want it all done for 'em, hands down. MSFT has the web tv working with The Bigs...my daughter has friends with internet on tv and says it's lousy and very limited compared to ours. But that's so far...web tv hasn't come roaring out of the gate yet, either. Got lots of 'em out there. TWX runs cable in this area; an internetsting (a misspell but I'll leave it as a freudian slip)article in today's local paper details how TimeWarner is boosting security and has signed theft complaints against some who use "black boxes" to steal cable tv services. Methinks all CableTV Companies will be doing more of this in the future and setting security methods in place, before they allow the wholesale internet cable access set-top box extravaganza we've all been waiting for to be completely released. I also notice there's less fervor about upgrading to fiber-optic, as more new high-speed capabilities inherently possible thru copper wiring are being tested & implemented as Joe pointed out in a previous post, along with the limits of the speed of the cabletv lines as more and more people crowd the wire. It sure doesn't make sense to yank out a whole infrastructure when the speed differences possible would only be noticed by a gauge and undetectable to the user. I don't think there will ever be only one way to access the Internet; I think it'll be like our phone modem start-up going to a choice of satellite, phone modem/cable modem/dsl, digital/cell phone, wireless broadband (isn't that really an expanded version of RADIO?), then wireless TV, then probably walkie-talkie-like gizmos, tv/radio channels, stuff they haven't even mentioned or thought of yet many of which won't be implemented for a large market ultimately. IMHO this last year's Morph of Telecoms and Cable (starting with ATT) gives the message of Who The Middleman Is...T and other Bigs standing like trolls collecting bridge tolls...there never will be much going around them because that's how they make their money and plan to continue. The Trolls will stick together to defend their shared position, too.
They have the weight to lean on usurpers to create some pressure on 'em if they try to go around Paying The Piper to get to Dotcom's Web. Your Bigs are in all these fields now, and if the smaller Companies co-operate with the status quo, they're in (NT and TLAB look to be cooperative so they're ok). MSFT's a cooperative Troll too, for instance. LU is a Great Big Troll for Internet Telephony New Kids, a contract with LU has usually been The Ace Of Spades for these Companies so far, unless they form the alliance with LU and others and stop with that aspect of "stop paying high phone bills" to attract consumers, ever notice that? (for e.g. of this sad story, see VOCLF soap opera so far). Anyway, that's why I still say, at this point in time, any Co. having to do with Internet Telephony (unless it doesn't attempt to go around The Bigs) is destined for the Flatlands. Bigs'll release the IT when they're good and ready and not before...it just isn't gonna work right til then and that's that.
Once IT is fully deployed; there's yer simultaneous access to Internet and Phone...whether by wire or gizmo or air. Most certainly it's not to their interest to deploy IT til they got it all nailed down, parceled up, securitized, priced, and Bogarted. IMHO that's the future...many will be swallowed by some big boa constrictor or other, others will remain cooperatively independent, and the rebels will be looking at the pet shop thru the display window only. Me, I look for cooperation and acquisition possibilities with these telenets. Same with most portals but not all....independent portals are to their interest, as long as they're cooperating with Bigs or Their Venturist Pals. GNET, good fortune for us, is aligned just right at this time.
Well Carolyn, so there ya have it, mulling thoughts around often takes me awhile. Thanks for the inspirationly homework.
Yer pal,
Joan
