Can you source an article reporting the BLS-HLIT connection? (I could find nothing.) If true, it's news to Ciena shareholders like me who have been waiting for the announcement that Ciena was chosen to provide DWDM to BellSouth, as has long been rumored. If HLIT beat out Ciena, that would be bad news indeed.

HW:

Yup, fiber is the way to go. But don't necessarily expect it to your curb. South Florida is presently undergoing a tremendous boom in residential construction. So there is massive deployment of new plant to reach previously undeveloped area. Hence, the installation of fiber along I-95 you speak of. BLS is smart to extend the fiber plant to these new residential communities. But this does not necessarily translate to a re-installation of fiber to existing built-out communities. That investment is already made -- & the returns are likely not yet fully realized. So expect BLS to focus on the fiber road ahead, not behind. JMO.
