The point is that we have for the most part been nations who respected international laws and conventions. I was actually on the side of the Nato action in Kosevo until I began to learn more about the R. Accord and to see that in effect we were asking the Serbs to unconditionally surrender their sovereignty - a position which was totally unacceptable to Serbs of every political persuasion. And what we were demanding was illegal, and subsequent actions have been illegal and criminal - and these actions are being taken by our countries! And there is no doubt in my mind that our actions have been responsible for the huge increase in refugees. The point about Hussein too is that villain though he is - he is still head of a sovereign nation and the 'no fly zones- do not have the sanction of the U.N. And the bombing goes on and on and the people suffer - and the U.S. line is 'it's all Sadaam's fault. And the press coverage just isn't there to find out what's really happening. We could intervene in many countries but don't. This Kosevo business is a turning point, a powder keg, - we can only hope that it doesn't lead to real trouble in the world.
