I apologize that sometimes I lack vision. However, being an ATHM shareholder, I wonder how popular it will be. I contacted my local cable operator, TCI, and was told that @Home was not yet available and could not tell me when it would be. Also, it costs an extra 34.95 per month. Installation would be $150, and I also have to purchase a cable modem and a network interface card for $350. That all seems a bit much. Hopefully, prices will drop.

Funny thing is I actually have a lot of respect for the Motley Fools in general. They dont pretend to know any more than they know, yet somehow they seem to know something big even though they dont understand why.
They timed entry into ATHM extremely well, though of course their entry helped spark the buzz that we know today. There was a time when everyone thought @home was an overpriced overhyped flop in the making.
You inspired me to do the actual calculation: To fill 100gig of data with a 56k (actually 40-50k typical) it would approach a full year of uninterrupted connection. How long with @home running 1.5meg? 8 days. In a system thats naturally 24/7 anyway. Thats perspective.
