<typical fashion>??? Pulling one instance of err, whether purposeful or not, is not typical fashion. perhaps lady Di is of the same ilk as Chomsky in your book. They are certainly(were!) partners in standing up to the US attrocities in SE Asia. How about the failure of the United States to help Laos/Cambodia disarm the millions of cluster bomb pods that still kill thousands every year in those countries? Who is worse? Chomsky for his mis-reporting the Cambodian killing fields or the US for continuing them 30 years after the fact?
