I want to start a serious chat about this Hypermart. We are constantly touting it a major asset. Russell certainly gives it a lot of attention. We go on and on about have big and wonderful it is. Super. So what is it that is so great about Hypermart? I went to the site and checked it out. I'm not an expert, but it simply appears to me as a nifty collection of organized and searchable links to various on-line stores. I frequently buy over the Net, heck I even use my credit card. In fact, I did most of my Christmas shopping on the Net in '97, '98 and '99. I can't say I had difficulty in finding anything I was looking for simply by using a standard search engine. Don't misquote me. I'm not saying Hypermart is not required. I kinda like the feature whereby one can search for a keyword and get all types of related products listed by increasing price. I would like to know, though, how it benefit's Go2Net so? Do people actually us it? Do the businesses hosted there feel it bring them worthwhile traffic? How does it differ from a standard search engine? Why would net users use it over other similar sites? What benefits does it give to the Net shopper? How will the regular Net shopper discover this service? Will Hpermart only shine once delivered via cabled set-top boxes? Every few weeks we learn about how many more businesses Hypermart is hosting. But, how many more users use Hypermart as a shopping tool? Is that growing? Any thoughts? Dany
