Snowman:

You're right... We can't be everywhere, but we should be somewhere where there is major injustice being done... In World War II tens of millions of lives were lost because we did nothing when Hitler began his Final Solution and march towards world domination... Had we acted sooner, perhaps millions of lives could have been saved...

It's easy to sit back in the comfort of one's home after having a big meal and say Bosnia was not our problem... Or Kosovo is not our problem... Then as one helps oneself to dessert they say, "why should we get involved"??? Be thankful that you're not in their shoes, being forced out of your home, and walking all the way to the border after your home has been burned, your wife raped, and your uncle shot and thrown in a ditch... Sometimes doing the right thing isn't easy... Helping the helpless is doing the right thing... Unfortunately we don't have the resources to be everywhere, but at least we are somewhere...

Jim

OT Snowman, you got to pick your battles and go where you can make a difference. US can't do much in China or Rwanda.. but IT CAN make a differenc in Kosovo.. Europe's backyard with all the NATO forces.

For example if your neighbor was starving, you wouldn't say.. "sorry I can't help you, because I can't feed ALL the starving people in world"

Get the logic?
