F Robert Simms: <<I noticed that QQQ is listed as "not marginable" by Datek today.>> Really, have you found out why? I can't see any reason why they would do that.

Regards,

Jaime

You saw what Datek did to the Goldman IPO, how anyone could trust
them after that is a mystery to me. They may have been part of
the slam dunk the QQQ and Spy had this morning, I wouldn't use
Datek if there wasn't another e-trader on the web , I'd quit
first.
I may have to go off line VERY bad storms are headed my way.

Jim

Sorry, I didn't see your post Robert. When I said "I don't think anything untoward is going on here" I was referring to the blip in the QQQ this morning, NOT to Datek making it non-marginable.

I can't imagine why they would do that. I'll be watching to see if this was some sort of mistake.

BTW, it's my understanding that Datek "grandfathers" existing margined positions when they make a stock non-marginable. They did so in my case, anyway (not with QQQ - with a stock). (Knock on wood.)
