panambancorp.com May 12, 1999 From the desk of John Schmitz I want to thank all those who wrote to me and e-mailed me recently. I am sorry for not responding to everyone personally. I hope to arrange my schedule to fit in some time for e-mail again soon. We have been busy with our structure and organization. I have been preaching fundamentals daily. I have outlined a streamlined, coordinated, integrated company. Each division will interact with others, working as one unit. This process will allow us to allocate resources in a way that gives the greatest return to the whole company. We can then proceed on a course of controllable, sustainable growth in each division. We are poised to take advantage of some of the most explosive and exciting opportunities in today's business environment. Therefore, we must make sure our systems and controls are in place. I believe we are taking the right steps to ensure our growth and, ultimately, shareholder value. Mr. Doyle has been working diligently on the bank. We are on schedule and look to have a pre-filing meeting in the near future. Once the bank is in place, we can expand our financial services to include CDs, consumer loans, small business loans, etc. This combined with the other services on our Internet hub will bring us closer to being the leader in Internet-based financial services.
