Ken, some good points you raised.

I assume you are making the distinction between the generically-IP Internet Telephony variant, as opposed to the VoIP of a type which is predicated on traditional carrier emulation, here. Correct?

BTW, if you could point to a good url that elaborates on the points made by CSCO last week, I'd appreciate it.

Respectfully, I disagree. First off Uncle Sam pays one back 35 cents on the dollar for all that capital infrastructure (tax shielding from depreciation). Second, I cannot foresee when the analog network will be retired - its ubiquity is invaluable.

I can assure you that there has been more than an adequate return on invested capital for the analog system.
