And the iMac doesn't keep Mommy from listening to her soaps while she does her chores.

What about USB PlayStation controllers? Golly, can you imagine playing multi-player PlayStation games on a G4 that has a 21" monitor?

Seems to me an iMac, outfitted with VPS and a couple USB controllers (TBA), would be one hell of a great dorm room machine! Do research on the Web, write your paper, check your e-mail, then kick back for a couple hours and play some games. And look good doing it, thanks to those snappy iMac colors!

Let's speculate , could AAPL benefit from buying SGI ?

Herb no doubt yesterday's G 4 AltiVec demo sent a signal to SGI .

Today's IBM deal with Nintnedo did likewise to SGI but it could be devastating to MIPS , SGI's holding and current Nintendo supplier:

----
" Processor designer and Silicon Graphics spin-off MIPS Technologies could face hard times now that Nintendo has decided to go with another chipmaker for its game hardware.

Nintendo is expected to announce soon that it will incorporate PowerPC processors from IBM to serve as the nerve center in the next generation of game consoles to be released in the fall of 2000. "
