A lie is usually a lie, and the way to bet. But when truth, for example, is replaced as the highest ideal, then a lie is just something in your tool box that you grab to fix the higher value.

Reagan: economy--what by driving the deficit to never dreamt of levels? Massive Government spending is hardly a Reagan creation.
Cold War--every president since Truman has contributed to the Cold war. He likely accelerated the victory, of course we now face a russia in chaos, that soon may be prowling. In paying for it, our economy was depressed, and the debt soared. What evidence is there that had he continued traditional opposing the Communists that in 15? years Russia wouldn't be another prosperous, allied, european socialist democracy?
