First Data gets nod from Justice Department

First Data Corp. (NYSE: FDC) received
clearance from the Department of Justice
for its proposed acquisition of Paymentech
Inc.'s (NYSE: PTI) outstanding shares. First
Data expects the transaction to close in the
third quarter of this year. Atlanta-based
First Data processes credit information.
Paymentech provides electronic payment
services.
