SFD: I agree that MSFT's recent initiatives aren't short term oriented but with Office 2000 coming this qrtr and NT 5 about to finish beta I see a lot of cash coming in over the transom and that is why MSFT has been emboldened to part with a goodly amount of their current hoard. I can't see how they can have any thing but a great qrtr. given the $500,000,000 head start deferred into this one from last. Office 2000 has a much greater market than its predecessors and should add a ton of revenue. They are fiscally very conservative if history and balance sheets are any indication. Most of these long term investments by the way have been providing better returns than their prior use as interest generators. Almost every investment to date is a paper profit. I understand your devil's advocacy I just don't understand those who perceive it as real.

I think the judge's decision did have an impact. So we disagree there.
