My typical summer Canadian vacation is to take a few days before the 4th of July off and head to Ottawa. There you can go a few miles out and get on white water rafting trip and white water kayaking for a couple of days. Come back to the city just in time for the 1st of July which is the Canada day and see the celeberation in front of the parliament. Spend the rest of the time in Montreal and enjoy the Jazz Fest. It's a lot of fun and it does not cost much at all.

As for Toronto, for some reason it was one of very few cities in which I felt right at home from day one, though realistically I can only say that they have one of the best restaurant collections anywhere (NYC does not come even close). Vancouver I like for it's surrounding nature.

So the perfect Canadian city, should have the natural beauty and climate of Vancouver, cultural diversity of Toronto, and the fun life style of Montreal <g>

cheers,
ST
