Goldsnow, Interesting site. I'll try to browse through some of the content in the future now that I have it bookmarked. The only problem with the solutions they offer is that they lack any framework for implementation. An end to the bombing. Pursue diplomacy, not rejecting out of hand every diplomatic overture (such as the Russian call for talks or Milosevic's offer of a cease-fire). Of course, Milosevic asked for a cease-fire. He doesn't want to lose more of his forces. Why don't they ask why Milosevic has rejected NATO demands that Serbian forces withdraw so an international force can enter?? An international peace keeping force overseen by the UN General Assembly to stand between the combatants. An international system, under the auspices of the General Assembly, to adjudicate and make decisions about the use of peace-keeping forces. Following the first proposal, how do we get the Serbs and KLA disengaged so that we have a permissive environment to bring in a peacekeeping mission with teeth to defend the peace against EITHER party. How do we guarantee Milosevic's compliance since so much of his political authority derived from the way he hyped up the Kosovo issue?? And an insistence that other atrocities, often perpetrated or abetted or ignored by Washington because they serve U.S. interests, receive the same media visibility and humanitarian attention as the atrocities in Kosovo I think CNN and Belgrade are doing a fine job with that already. We can't have an errant piece of ordnance hit an unintended target without Belgrade trying to call it an atrocity. War is an atrocity, but the greater atrocity is ignoring a continual pattern of atrocities as we have seen from Milosevic and the Serbs over the past 10 years. But hey... aren't these people who are engaging in this NATO action the very same leftists who were opposing Vietnam?? My, the shoe is on the other foot now, isn't it?? What would these "academics" do were they sitting in the White House making these decisions instead of their draft-dodging buddy? Regards, Ron
