Don, thanks for the Ron Paul link - it is nice to know there is at least one intelligent man in congress. I would recommend that everyone read this passage especially da Mythman. It is interesting to note that M3 grew from $2.3 Trillion to $5.5 Trillion as of late 1997- an increase of 140% ! to put this in perspective the adjusted monetary base during the 20's grew 61.3%. Obviously, the money supply components are different and I won't try to adjust for the differences. In addition, the role of non bank credit creation today blows away the broker loan credit creation of the 20's IMO. HO HO HO mike

It is interesting to note (from a purely partisan point of view) that Mr. Paul was the Libertarian candidate for President in 1988.
