Has anyone noticed that if they only go a few M shares by now means that they did not get Al's shares nor the shares the BOD is holding nor the arbs' shares?

I won't look for $30 for VLSI by fall. That's just unrealistic expectations in my books. They are 'leader' in cell phones and maxed out in capacity last Q and still they couldn't generate any significant profits. That says a lot by itself. A lot of people peeked at the books and nobody bite except Phillips. There must be a lot of stuff in those books that people like you and I are not aware of.

Will be really funny that all the major shareholders are greedy for more and get so greedy that the deal falls apart on it's own weight and the stock goes back down from here when Phillips finally has to walk away.

Ram,
i don't see how the Price of VLSI will float above $21 unless a new suitor appears despite how long it takes Philips to acquire the shares. If they are the only public offer and has the BOD endorsement, even a blow out quarter would have difficulty improving the price - if it did, it would only be due to be pure speculation that another suitor would be coming forward and Philps tender being retracted.
