Tom, when you said you'd be delighted to add my name to the e-mail list, was it because you really don't like me very much and were going to enjoy thinking about the pained expression on my face when I read that so called update? just wondering...

you got me good!

Carol

Dave, I had a couple of good long pages typed out here and I must have hit the delete key. I'm not going to go through it again other than to say that nothing has come along in the last four years that is any better than what was out there four years ago. Whatever edge fractal had then it has now. And, as Tom pointed out in the e-mail, the equipment was the biggest drawback four years ago. Today that problem is largely solved. Resolution independence is the key. You zoom in on the fractal image and it is still clear. You zoom again and it is still clear. With jpeg and gif you get big pixel blocks. It's a simple matter of picture quality in a compressed image. It also performs up or down to the capability of the hardware it is running on.

I am posting a link to RB. This poster, simpledave, "hmmmm" I wonder if that last name starts with an "E", has a pretty good handle on it. I'm glad to let someone else preach it for a while. I never claimed to be an expert because I'm not.

One more thing before I post the link. Tom has never been known for his writing abilities. Tom himself has said that he's just not very good at it. The capital letters popping up all over the place are because of a problem he has with his computer or word processor. If I remember correctly, it capitalizes the first word of each line. Mix that with the fact that the e-mail didn't do a word wrap and you get capitalized words all over the place. If that's not true then I must have dreamed it but I'm pretty sure that is the problem. As far as Tom sending the e-mail, we would have crucified him if he didn't. He was pretty well boxed in. I would recommend a PR person do the next one, or at least David Elliot, Tom if you are reading. No offence!

As to the question of why the stock started trading the day before any of this stuff started coming out on RB and SI, that is a good question. It started about two hours before the market closed. I don't know when it showed up in the Casino and Internet Stock Report, or whatever. It didn't all happen because these bb's. If Tom knows, he's not telling. He sure didn't tell me or anyone I know.

I want to point out one more time something that I think is strange. I posted it once already and no one even noticed. Again, I found a picture of Randy Jackson in the staff section of one of the companies that was mentioned here on SI in a news release. It listed three companies that are working on encrypted MP3. I checked them all out. One of them was MCY.COM. Under the "Download" section of this site is a page full of thumbnail pictures. The last one on the right on the bottom row is Randy Jackson. He is African American. Look at it. Doesn't this arouse anyone's curiosity but mine?

One more thing, Dave. MP3 is hot as you say. I play with it all the time. I love it. It is driving the music industry crazy so someone is going to plug the hole and figure out how to stop the bleeding. If TMM has the technology to do it, which Tom says they do, then it might as well be TMM that supplies the technology. What will be there when there is no more MP3? It will be MP3 that you have to pay a little for. These companies have invested a lot of money. Lucent went in with EDIG. MCY, the one I will post a link to, will have their own MP3 player. They all will. I think the convenience of MP3, as big as it already is, will keep it afloat. People will have to pay for it but it's still nice to be able to make your own CD with only the songs you want on it. I've got a hard drive full of it.

Kind of a long note I wasn't going to write. I wrote it twice too! Dave, here's the link to the post on RB if you haven't read it.

ragingbull.com

Here is the link to the MCY site in case anyone would like to look at that and wonder why. Probably nothing to it but it seems odd to me. Click on "Downloads". MCY.COM is due to roll out this month. I tried twice to get a sneak preview pass but they wouldn't give it to me. I don't know why. I'm a fairly decent guy but I did use my real name. It's MP3.
