THere's something so wonderful about being alone after going through something so full of people and emotion and pressure. But sometimes it's hard to know what to do -- it feels as if it should be special- but when you think about it- what IS special? Usually it's something you do with the very people you're now feeling free from. Barnes and Noble is always a good start though. Who has your nephew?

I think a lot of the pleasure comes from the sheer indulgence of owning a large chunk of time all toyourself, time for the things only you like- which may not be terribly exciting to anyone else.

Let's see- I always eat something only I love-- like anchovies. And I buy a special bottle of wine and watch chick flicks that the guys make pukey sounds over if I suggest them. I sing opera karaoke loudly and cry when I sing Butterfly. I play the piano late at night and pretend I'm a nightclub singer and sometimes I wander around naked.

However I realize my idea of a good time isn't for everyone. In fact, it's probably not for anyone. Which is why I do it alone.

Have a wonderful weekend, Cobe. You deserve it after the last day or two. CHeck in now and then and tell us what odd things YOU do.
